The recently released Gonski Review into public funding for schools has been described as “landmark” and “historic”. Billions of dollars more for schools and a fairer way of sharing it sounds like a great idea, but is the devil in the details and will the Gonski Review really change anything in Australian schools?

Speakers include:
Maxine McKew, former federal Parliamentary Secretary for Early Childhood Education and multi-award winning journalist

Frank Sal, President, Victorian Association of State School Principals (VASSP) and former principal of Myrtleford Secondary, Carwatha College P-12, Noble Park and Doncaster Secondary College

Bronwyn Hinz, writer, former political adviser, education policy consultant and PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne. See bronwynhinz.com for examples of her work.

Recorded 18 April, 2012 at the Melbourne City Conference Centre

This is an Australian Fabians (Victoria) Event.
